What We Do
Consult Your Community is a national nonprofit organization that mobilizes college students across the nation to leverage their knowledge, networks, and training to provide pro-bono consulting to local, predominantly minority-run small businesses in their communities.
At the Emory chapter, teams of 5 or 6 students work with 6 different local businesses every semester to provide strategic recommendations that help the company to grow. Learn more on our national website.
New Member Training
How We Do It
No experience? No problem.
Every semester, 10-15 new members are on-boarded and trained on how to consult for clients, including how to scope a project, build effective communication skills, and conduct academic research. Included in this training are sessions on professional development, including interview skills and networking tips that can help propel you into your future career, whether it be in consulting or elsewhere.

Our Vision & Mission
Small businesses are symbols of the American Dream brought to life. According to the Small Business Administration, they employ nearly 60% of the private workforce and created nearly 70% of net new jobs after the 2008 recession. The economy relies on small businesses, but they’re in trouble.
Our vision is to empower every entrepreneur to have the economic freedom to realize the American Dream. We accomplish this through Our Mission: to create economic breakthrough for women and minority small business owners by connecting them with our volunteer workforce to solve their biggest strategic challenges.

PRO-BONO HOURS
Since Emory CYC’s inception in 2015, we have committed 4,992 pro-bono hours of consulting services for our clients. In order to see our vision and fulfill our mission, helping our clients free of charge is essential, especially for the communities we impact.
90%
MINORITY-OWNED BUSINESSES
Creating economic breakthrough for women and minority small business owners is the heart of our cause. That’s why we source clients in Atlanta that have disproportionate access to resources because of their social and/or economic position.
